Did you pick up a loaf of bread from the Fridge? If it’s one of the flatter ones, like a Pave loaf from Marks & Spencer, or a baguette-type loaf, you can slice it and turn it into dinner for tonight, pizza-style.
First, take your loaf.
Next, slice the loaf horizontally to make two flattish pieces.
Top the slices with pizza sauce. You can buy a jar of pizza sauce, or use red pesto (our favourite), tomato puree or a pasta sauce.
Then top the pizza base with your favourite vegetables or toppings. Whatever you picked up from the fridge, like mushrooms, onion slices, fresh pepper or ham work well. Our recipe tester used mushroom, red onion, courgette and cooked sausage.
Finally, add the cheese! You can never have too much cheese!
Next, bake the pizza in the oven. We’d suggest 180C (fan oven) for about 20 minutes until the cheese is melted to your liking, but adjust those based on how much topping you have added and what your oven is like.
Now you’re ready to slice and serve! This makes a great quick lunch for two people. For a larger meal, we suggest serving with a green salad, potato salad, garlic bread or the side dishes your family love.
