Baked croissants

Baked croissants

Here’s a great idea for using up croissants you’ve rescued from your local Community Fridge.

Slice the croissants. Then fill them with ham and cheese (or cream cheese), cut them up so they fit in your baking dish.

Fill your croissants and slice them into chunks to fit the dish

Cover the croissants in an egg/milk mix as you would a savoury bread and butter pudding. We used two eggs and a splash of milk and didn’t measure accurately.

Bake in the oven. The dish puffs up and is a delicious main meal! We served it with peas, but baked beans or any other veg or a salad would work just as well.

In the picture below you can see it caught a little in oven so keep an eye on it and cover your dish with a lid or foil if it needs longer in the oven but is going brown on the top.
