Scone-based Pizza

Take your rescued scones from the Community Fridge, slice and layer with sauce and cheese… serve with a green salad, garlic bread or sides of your choice!

This is a really easy dinner.

First, slice enough scones to fit inside your baking dish. You don’t have to use a round dish; use whatever dish you have.

Next, top the scones with pizza sauce and grated cheese.

We used a jar of tomato pasta sauce. You can use a homemade sauce, or even simple tomato puree. Sprinkle the scone base with the cheese of your choice. We used cheddar.

Pizza ready to be cooked

Finally, bake your scone pizza in the oven. We used 180C and it took about 20 minutes to heat through and melt the cheese. Adjust the temperature and timing to suit your oven, and keep an eye on it if you aren’t sure to check it doesn’t burn.

The pizza ready to eat!

Serve the gooey cheesy pizza with a green salad, garlic bread or whatever sides your family enjoys.
